Marylebone Painters & Decorators
Our approach
The route to a Marylebone room can matter as much as the room itself. We discuss the doorway, stairs and retained finishes alongside the surfaces to be decorated, then use that information to shape the work.
Discuss your project
01 — Walk through the proposed scope
Start at the entrance and describe the journey to each working area. For a mansion flat, include the shared landing; for a mews home, show how equipment reaches the upper rooms. Identify worn finishes and any previous repairs you know about. Building instructions, existing colour records and photographs give this first discussion a firmer basis.
02 — Resolve the decisions that affect the work
A room list becomes useful when it distinguishes the ceiling, walls, window faces, shutters and other joinery. Mark the elements that are excluded or still awaiting advice. We discuss sample approval, repair responsibilities and access before settling the specification. Any required estate or council response belongs with those documents, together with the programme and payment terms.
03 — Plan the working sequence
Agree how the house or flat will function while each area is being decorated. A protected route through a narrow hall may need to stay open; a newly coated door may need time before it can be handled normally. Preparation and application must follow the selected system, with newly exposed defects reviewed before they are covered.
- Establish which building or joinery repairs must be completed before the first decorating stage.
- Identify temporary furniture positions and essential routes through occupied rooms.
- Check the product instructions for the conditions needed between coats and during curing.
- Discuss a proposed scope change before authorising the additional work.
04 — Close the room schedule
Use the agreed room schedule for the final review, noting anything still to be resolved. Keep a finish record by location: for example, front drawing-room walls, rear bedroom shutters or entrance door. Include the product and sheen as well as the colour. Manufacturer care instructions guide cleaning; photographs and the location of any later concern help us discuss it clearly.
